Nokia's got its own pinhole-camera phone on the way, according to leaked renders

If 2018 was the year of the notch, 2019 is shaping up to be the year of the pinhole smartphone camera, with manufacturers like Huawei and Lenovo following the lead set by Samsung with its Infinity-O design in a race to provide as much screen real estate as possible. Nokia 8.1 Plus May Adopt A Camera Hole Display As Well

If 2018 was defined by the notch then it appears that 2019 will be defined by the camera hole. Display manufacturers have come up with another way of maximizing the screen real estate. It involves putting the camera in a cutout inside the display thus removing the notch and freeing up more space. HMD Global might be adopting this for an upcoming Nokia device.

Renders of the Nokia 8.1 Plus have been released , and it shows that the upcoming smartphone offering of HMD Global will feature a display hole, a dual rear camera setup, and a rear fingerprint sensor. The renders show that the Nokia 8.1 Plus will feature a near bezel-less screen, which is made possible by the introduction of a display cutout placed at the upper left-hand corner of the handset.
