Apple's latest T2 chip was first introduced to us last year when it made an appearance in the tech giant's then-newest computers, the 2017 iMac Pro and MacBook Pro. The processor uses an ARM-based architecture and is designed to handle some of the newer features that were introduced in last year's MacBook Pros, including the Touch Bar and Touch ID. Third-party content is easier to discover and download within the Swift Playgrounds app, and Apple has made touch gestures for selecting code both more precise and easier to use.

This is a special chip that securely stores sensitive information about the user, like in the case of the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pros, it is where your fingerprint information is stored and protected using encryption.
