Spotify Experimenting With Letting Free Users Skip Any Ad

Spotify is currently in the process of testing a new service change that would allow its free users to skip all advertisements, having confirmed the move in a statement given to AdAge earlier this week. The experiment is only live in Australia as of right now and it's presently unclear how long may Spotify test it before possibly expanding it to other countries. Spotify, the most widely used music streaming service in the world, is running a new test down in Australia where it's allowing users on its free ad-supported tier to skip both video and audio ads as many times as they like. While it might seem counterproductive at first, this test may help Spotify better target users for advertisements down the line.
