Microsoft wants you to know Windows 10 is faster and more reliable than ever

5 monthes ago   |   By Beta News

Windows 10 has long had a reputation for being a rather problematic operating system. Part of this is down to early versions famously spying on users, and Microsoft shoving it onto systems against the owners' wishes didn't help either. Rolling out major feature updates twice a year has led to numerous complaints and problems as well, with one of our most searched-for articles here being how to rollback an update. Microsoft using AI and Machine Learning to manage the Windows 10 April 2018 Update rollout

As recently noted by AdDuplex, the Windows 10 1803 rollout is progressing much more smoothly than all previous feature updates. AdDuplex's figures suggest over 50 percent of Windows 10 users have already been offered the update, while Microsoft's own numbers say 250 million machines have it. With close to 700 million Windows 10 systems, that's just over 35 percent. It's certainly been a huge improvement over the famously slow and problematic Creators Update last year, and part of the reason this rollout has been so successful is down to Microsoft's use of AI and Machine Learning. Windows 10 April 2018 Update now open to all, thanks to machine learning

5 monthes ago   |   By Ars Technica

We already know that the Windows 10 April 2018 Update has been the most rapidly deployed of the major Windows 10 updates. Microsoft today said a little about how this speed was achieved-and made the update fully available to every Windows 10 system, representing the final stage of the rollout process.
The rollout of each major update is performed gradually. Microsoft uses information about successes, failures, and incompatibilities collected from the earliest systems to receive the update to determine whether it should be made more widely available. For this update, there was an extra...

Microsoft's Xbox app for Windows 10 will finally focus on PC gamers' needs

5 monthes ago   |   By Tech Radar

It's no shocker to say that, for everything Microsoft has done for its Xbox app on Windows 10 , the app is still not considering the needs and wants of PC gamers first - and Microsoft gaming lead Phil Spencer has just publicly recognized this. For those out of the loop, the Xbox app for Windows 10 has brought many helpful, native gaming features to the platform, including broadcasting, party chatting with Xbox One and PC players alike, and a Game Mode that improves performance. Speaking during an E3 2018 Q&A, Spencer responded to an audience question regarding the state of the Xbox app for...
