AT&T gained over 300,000 net new postpaid phone subscribers in Q1 2018

The nation's second largest wireless carrier, AT&T, reported today that it lost 22,000 postpaid phone subscribers during the first quarter of 2018 compared to the fourth quarter of 2017. But on a year-over-year basis, the company reported a gain of over 300,000 postpaid phone subscribers from January to March of 2018. For a wireless carrier, this is the most important metric they care about. Total postpaid additions hit 49,000.
AT&T also reported 192,000 pre-paid phone net additions for Q1, and close to 500,000 smartphones were added to AT&T's base. The churn of .84% in postpaid ...

Facebook is boasting a 49-percent revenue increase for the first quarter of 2018 compared to the first quarter total revenue earnings from 2017. According to Facebook's earnings report the social media company had a total Q1 2018 revenue of $11.966 Billion, which is a fairly big jump from the $8.032 Billion that it recorded at the same time last year. AT&T Posts $38B In Revenues, 3.2M Net Adds For Q1 2018

AT&T has just announced earnings for the first quarter of the year, which is headlined with consolidated revenues of $38 billion for the quarter. Cash from operations totaled $8.9 billion, capital expenditures were $6.1 billion and free cash flow was $2.8 billion. That translates to a diluted EPS or Earnings Per Share of $0.75 as reported, and adjusted to $0.85. This is up from $0.56 and $0.74 respectively year-over-year. AT&T actually missed analysts expectations here, EPS of $0.87 were expected, with revenues of $39.31 billion for the quarter. So the carrier just narrowly missed analysts...
